The Northern Ontario Centre for Learning Differences (NOCLD) is working to expand on the amazing work of the Learning Disabilities Associations in Sudbury. Thanks to an Ontario Trillium Foundation Grow Grant, the successful programs and services currently offered in Sudbury will now be available in Sault Ste. Marie, North Bay and Timmins. The expansion of services and programs across Northeastern Ontario will help to equip 1,050 youth who have learning disabilities, and their families, with the tools needed to develop critical emotional and social skills, leading to success in educational pursuits and eventually meaningful employment.
To help reach this goal, NOCLD is launching the 'We Are Not Alone' Campaign, in support of children and youth with learning disabilities and their families. This initiative will help finance our parent support programs, parent resource manuals and develop parent workshops.
Our fundraising goal is $50,000, which will go a long way in supporting the parents and families of children and youth with learning disabilities. And as an added benefit, all donations from each community will stay in that community.
