The Sudbury Workers Education and Advocacy Centre (SWEAC) was started by a dedicated group of volunteers and workers who were concerned about the inequalities that workers were facing in Sudbury. The Centre seeks to build the capacity of workers and educate them in their workplace rights, ensuring they can commit fully to their community both economically and socially.
SWEAC’s services benefit many within our community, especially women and youth as more than half the individuals who access our services are women, and since 2015 SWEAC has provided “Know Your Rights” presentations to more than 1,700 working age youth in the Greater City of Sudbury and surrounding area.
The Sudbury Workers Education and Advocacy Centre faces a drastic reduction of its essential services come end of July 2017. With your donation, we will be able to sustain our educational and one-on-one support services, ensuring that they remain intact to support the growing needs of workers in the area.
