Hospice Northwest is raising funds for our Hearts & Hope Grief and Bereavement Support Group. Hearts & Hope offers companionship and support to those who are grieving the death of a family member or close friend. The grief that is experienced after a death can be overwhelming. While nothing can take away the intensity of emotional grief, Hospice Northwest believes that compassion and understanding can help.
Hearts & Hope provides a place where people can talk about their experiences, listen to the experiences of others and share their feelings. Guiding principles include respecting the values and beliefs of others while maintaining confidentiality. Group participants gain skills and an understanding of their grief experience and practice compassion towards themselves and others.
Money raised will go towards ensuring the continuation of the Hearts & Hope Grief and Bereavement Support Group, as well as developing new programming for individuals not yet receiving grief support. There is currently a lack of such support for bereaved children and youth, as well as for grieving members of Indigenous communities. With your help we can start creating programs, workshops and support groups that will provide these individuals with support tailored to their unique needs.
